When we left France and I returned after 34 years to Germany, we sold our boat – Blue Djinn Yves Parlier – to the ship chandler of the marina of Lac Madine. Having bought an apartment in my hometown Frankfurt am Main I wondered where one could sail? Indeed, there is no not a good sailing area nearby. The nearest is the Edersee Edersee a 2 hours’ drive from Frankfurt. So, what to do? On one of my running rounds led me to the south side oft he river Main where are a number of water sports clubs located. That’s how I discovered the Frankfurter Yachtclub Frankfurter Yachtclub Indeed, before, I have never considered to sail on a river. But it works, pretty well. In 2023 we became members of the club. It’s a good club. The club has a beautiful site with several jetties and slips. 6 Regattas are organized every year, and it is good fun to sail on the river. The club offers some sailing boat for use by their members. In 2024 we bought a small boat from a fellow member of the club – Atlanta Vario II. In 2025 we sold the Atlanata and only one month after the occasion come up to buy, again from another club member, a RS Quest.
