From 22 – 29 March 2025 our second sailing trip with Barfuss Segelreisen Barfuss Segelreisen in Nürnberg took us to Lanzarote ( Sailingtrip Lanzarote ). It was the same Sailing Yacht as for our 2024 trip a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 469 . One-week of sailing in the Atlantic from Arrecife, around the island Los Lobos ( Los Lobos), out to the Atlantic; then Puerto Rubicon ( Puerto Rubicon), Puerto Calero ( Puerto Calero) and back to Arrecife. We were lucky. We sailed under Wind all but one day;117 nautical miles.
Sailing on the Atlantic is very different from sailing in the Mediterranean Sea. The weather was comparatively cold, and we had winds of up to 30 knots. But one of our companion sailor stated”: “Live begins above 40 knots”. At times, the heeling of our ship was considerable. Between the islands we had a cross sea which led to high waves from different directions. Holding a course high upwind proved to be difficult. Thanks to the great experience of our skipper Wolfgang, there were no problems. The infrastructure of the marinas on Lanzarote is very good. You find a variety of shops, restaurants and regularly little markets. For the marina in Arrecife we received a link in advance (URL with Password) which opened the doors to the jetty and the sanitary block via a click on the mobile phone.
Helmsman
Before we started the sailing trip, we spent 2 days in Arrecife, the largest town on the Island. The Malecon of El Charco was our favourite place with good restaurants.
The next sailing trip with Barfuss Segelreisen is already booked! In March 2026 we will fly to Martinique for a 13 days course in the Lesser Antilles Segelreisen Kleine Antillen.
End of May 2025 I will participate for the 1st time in the Hessenregatta 2025.“
